Privacy Policy
Last updated October 8, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how 1600314 B.C. Ltd. ("Perri," "we," "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use the Perri app, website and related services (the "Services"). It also explains how we handle information about people who communicate with a Perri user but do not use Perri themselves, and the choices available to everyone.
By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
The Services are provided by 1600314 B.C. Ltd., a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information we hold. Our Privacy Officer can be reached at privacy@getperri.com.
2. The Services and why they involve personal information
Perri is an AI personal assistant. Depending on what you connect, it:
- reads your Google mail and calendar, or your Microsoft Outlook mail and calendar;
- provides a phone number that places and receives your calls and text messages;
- transcribes calls it takes part in;
- listens when you speak to it in the app; and
- uses a large language model to read this information, keep notes, ask you questions, and prepare or send messages on your behalf.
To provide these features, Perri necessarily processes personal information about you and about the people you communicate with. This policy covers both.
3. Information we collect about you
Account information. Your name, email address, province, business name and time zone; a hashed password if you set one; the places you tell Perri about; and the IP address used when you sign up, sign in or accept a policy.
Phone information. Your phone number and carrier, and how your calls are forwarded.
Google data. With your permission, the messages in your Gmail account, including the text of documents attached to them, and your Google Calendar. With the same permission, Perri can send an email you have reviewed and approved on screen, and can add, move or cancel a calendar event when you ask it to.
Microsoft data. If you connect Microsoft instead of, or in addition to, Google, your Outlook mail and calendar. This connection is read-only: Perri can read your Outlook mailbox and calendar, but cannot send, move or cancel anything through it.
Calls. For calls Perri takes part in, the call audio for a short period, and a transcript.
Text messages. Texts sent and received through your Perri number.
Voice input. What you say to Perri when you speak to it in the app. This audio is sent to our speech-recognition provider to be converted into text, in the same way as call audio.
Contacts. Contacts you choose to import, including names, phone numbers and email addresses, and a contact for anyone who texts or calls your Perri number, or whom you text or call through it.
Photos and documents. Photos and documents you give Perri, and the text it reads from them. Before keeping a photo, we remove the location and other details your phone stores inside it.
Place labels. If you turn this feature on, arrivals at and departures from places you have named. We store the label you chose and the direction (arriving or leaving), not coordinates.
Approximate location. If you allow it, while Perri is open the app sends your device's position to our servers so we can work out which town you are in. We keep the town and discard the position.
Perri's notes. Notes that Perri writes about you and your day. These are generated by the AI, stored, and re-read so that Perri can remember.
Billing records. Records of your payments. Card numbers are held by our payment processor, Stripe, and not by us.
Notification token. The token that lets us send notifications to your device, stored encrypted.
4. Information about people who do not use Perri
Because Perri handles your calls, texts and mail, it also processes information about the people you communicate with. This can include their names, phone numbers and email addresses; their photograph, if it was included with your contact; the content of texts and emails they send you, including the text of documents attached to their emails; anything about them that appears in a photo or document you give Perri; and, for calls Perri takes part in, what they said, attributed to them.
We take the following steps to protect these individuals:
- Calls. Perri does not take part in a call, or keep what a person said on one, until that person has replied YES to Perri's notice. Until then, Perri only connects the call and does not take part in it.
- Notice. Before Perri reads a person's texts or transcribes a call with them, that person receives a one-time text message explaining what Perri is, how to say no, and that Perri will transcribe calls with them only if they reply YES.
- Opting out. Anyone can ask to be left out. When a person declines, Perri stops taking part in their conversations with you and erases what it had captured about them, including from Perri's notes.
- Records. We record each person's consent status, when and how it was given, and every change to it.
5. How we use information
We use personal information only to provide the Services to you: to read your day, remember what matters, remind you, prepare things for you, and draft or send messages you have asked for.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it for advertising of any kind.
6. Google user data
Perri's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
- We use your Google mail and calendar data only to provide Perri's features to you.
- We use the two permissions that allow writing (sending an email you have approved, and adding, moving or cancelling an event you have asked for) only for those purposes.
- No person at Perri reads your Google data except with your permission, for security purposes, or where required by law.
- We never use your Google data for advertising, and we never sell it.
How we protect your Google data.
- The key that lets Perri reach your Google or Microsoft account is encrypted by Perri before it is stored, using a key kept only in our production systems. The short-lived keys Perri uses each time it reads are never stored.
- Everything else Perri keeps, including the mail and calendar content it has read, is stored in our database. Our hosting provider, Render, encrypts it at rest, including backups.
- Perri connects to Google, and you connect to Perri, only over encrypted connections, and so do its connections inside our hosting network.
- The database keeps each account's data separate from every other account's.
- Sign-in keys are kept out of our logs, and when Perri reads your mail it logs how many messages, not what they say.
- Only Perri's founder holds the accounts that can reach the systems storing your data.
- Perri sends content to Anthropic's AI service over an encrypted connection to process it. Anthropic does not train its models on it.
You can disconnect Google at any time in Settings. Disconnecting stops Perri reading your Google account, deletes the key it used, and withdraws its access at Google. What Perri already read stays with your account, so it can keep helping you, until you ask us to delete it or you close your account.
7. How we share information
We rely on a small number of service providers. Each receives only the information needed for its part of the Services:
| Provider | Purpose | Information it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | AI model | What Perri needs to process: your mail, calendar, transcripts, messages and notes, and the photos and documents you give Perri. Anthropic does not train its models on data sent through its API. |
| Deepgram | Speech-to-text | Audio from your calls, and from your microphone while the voice feature is open. Deepgram does not retain the audio or use it to train its models. |
| Twilio | Phone service | Call audio and text messages. We delete call recordings from Twilio shortly after they are transcribed, and verify that the deletion occurred. |
| Mail and calendar | Our requests to read your mail and calendar, and an email to send or an event to add, move or cancel when you have asked for it. Nothing else. | |
| Microsoft | Mail and calendar | Our requests to read your Outlook mail and calendar, if you connect it. We request read-only access, so we cannot send or change anything there. |
| Postmark | Email delivery | The address each email is sent to, and the content of that email. |
| ElevenLabs | Perri's voice | The words Perri speaks aloud. Never what the other person on a call said. |
| Stripe | Payments | Card and payment details. Stripe holds card details; we hold billing records. |
| Render | Hosting | Perri's servers and database. |
| Open-Meteo | Weather | The name of your town, to find it on the map. Never your device's position, and nothing else about you. |
| Apple WeatherKit | Weather forecasts | Your town's coordinates and your time zone. Never your device's position, and nothing else about you. |
| Apple | Notifications and in-app purchases | Notifications to your device, which can show a sender's name and the start of a message on your lock screen, as your phone's notification settings allow. Apple processes any in-app purchase. |
We may also disclose information where required by law, such as in response to a valid court order.
8. International transfers
All of the providers listed above are located in the United States, except Open-Meteo, which is located in Switzerland. While your information is in another country, it is subject to the laws of that country, and its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities may be able to access it.
9. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as Perri needs it to provide the Services to you, and as long as the law requires. In particular:
- Call recordings are deleted from our phone provider within thirty minutes of being processed.
- Information captured about a person before they received a notice is destroyed if the notice never reaches them.
- We keep your information while your account is open. When you close your account, we delete it within 30 days, except information we must keep under the next point.
- Where BC law requires it, we keep information used to make a decision that directly affects a person for at least one year, so that the person can ask about it, including after an account is closed. We then delete it.
10. Your rights and choices
- Settings. You can disconnect Google or Outlook, turn off arrivals and departures, or change when your morning check-in comes, in Settings at any time. You can turn off location access in your phone's Settings.
- Access, correction and deletion. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to privacy@getperri.com. This applies whether or not you are a Perri user.
- Opting out of Perri. If Perri contacts you on someone else's behalf and you would prefer it did not, reply to say so. We treat that reply as a decline and honour it.
11. What we do not do
- We do not keep your device's position or a location history. When you allow location, we use your position only to work out your town, and then discard it.
- We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
- We do not store card numbers to take payment. Stripe holds those.
- Our providers do not train AI models on your data. We have opted out where a provider offers the option, and where it does not, their terms do not permit it.
12. Waitlist
If you joined the waitlist on our website, we hold only your email address and the date you provided it. We use it only to tell you when Perri is available. We do not sell it, share it or add it to any other list. Any waitlist email we send will include a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time by writing to privacy@getperri.com. Joining the waitlist does not create a Perri account.
13. Canadian privacy law
We are based in British Columbia and comply with BC's Personal Information Protection Act and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. For users in Alberta, Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act also applies.
Perri is not currently offered in Quebec, and we do not accept sign-ups from Quebec.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
When we make a material change to this Privacy Policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and show a notice in Settings until you have reviewed it. We will not expand how we use your information without telling you.
15. Contact us
Questions or requests about privacy can be sent to our Privacy Officer at privacy@getperri.com. A person reads every message.
